I am working on a simple GNOME-based project scheduler, known as "gscheduler". My original motivation was to provide a free, Linux-based replacement for Microsoft Schedule+. Then I realized that I really didn't like Schedule+, so I decided to start with something very simple and see where it takes me...

Help is very welcome. If you're interested in working on this project as a coder, drop me a line at bstpierre at If you just want to test or use gscheduler, download it and start using it! You can submit bugs (or suggest features) when you discover them. Subscribe to the gscheduler mailing list, or visit any of the online forums.

The next items to be implemented are as follows (this list can be seen at the project info page task list):

  1. Add better documentation (you're looking at all there is right now!), online help.
  2. Allow editing of tasks.
  3. Add a full report dialog and more reports.
  • Plus bug fixes as I discover them or receive reports.
  • And other features and niceties as I come up with them or receive suggestions.
  • This was originally intended to be useful outside the world of software, but I have recently been toying with the idea of having some integration with CVS... I'm not sure where this will lead...
